Brooklyn HomeSchool Mission and Tuition Rates

Mission of A Brookyn HomeSchool
Our Mission is to provide customized, attentive care and education in a flexibile, mobile, diverse Montessori-inspired environment. We blend this inspiration with the educational ethic of a "free" or democratic school-- such as Sudbury Schools-- in which the students' interests guide the educational process, and they frequently have equal say in the direction and emphasis of the educational program that fits, expresses, and interests them most. With “family-sized” groups of 3 or less for each adult teacher, customized learning shaped to each students’ interest, natural growth and curiosity is possible, and learning flourishes. Homeschooling, with its small-group mentorship environment, has proven to excel in providing a top-flight education, and is becoming more and more mainstream as the quality, flexibility (of schedule, subject-matter, and curriculum generally), and mobility of the education provided becomes more widely known. It also produces highly self-motivated, creative-thinking, top-scoring, independent and mature young men and women.
Our children. The coming generation’s adults and leaders. Let’s Teach Them Well.
That’s our mission, our pledge.

HomeSchooling, Mentorship
An education in a family-size, small-group environment is the furthest thing from isolating. A small group is mobile— the entire City is its textbook. Experience and hands-on application of knowledge are the tools of learning. Each student’s education springs from his/her own interests, innate curiosity, explorative and creative tendencies— thus, the learning progresses rapidly, learning happens at a rate and intensity rarely achieved in a regimented environment, in which obedience to the teacher, the school’s schedule, and all manner of other authorities and strictures becomes one of the main focuses of the educational experience and day-to-day process.
Kids freed to learn learn voraciously, much more willingly and impressively than children forced to learn. That is one of our guiding philosophies— and we’ll pass it on to your child and family.
